Why Conservatives Should Never Support Donald Trump

As a lifelong conservative, I believe in personal responsibility, limited government, and a strong national defense. But this election is not about traditional policies—it’s about Donald Trump’s failure to lead.

Putting Country Before Party: Why This Conservative Can’t Support Trump

As a lifelong conservative, I believe in personal responsibility, limited government, and a strong national defense. But this election is not about traditional policies—it’s about Donald Trump’s failure to lead.

Former President Trump has divided us. His speeches fuel resentment, not solutions. He’s weakened our alliances, alienated NATO, and cozied up to dictators like Vladimir Putin, betraying the very values of freedom and democracy we hold dear. His reckless behavior has made America less safe.

The leaders of the Republican Party initially denounced the violence of January 6, 2021, but many have since backtracked. While some Republicans in Congress may informally deny the “Great Lie” that President Biden is not legitimate, few have publicly stood against it. This is true even after more than 60 state and federal courts rejected Trump’s claims of a stolen election. This lack of courage is eroding our democracy.

If we continue promoting falsehoods and manipulating voting processes to solve a problem that doesn’t exist, we risk undermining the legitimacy of future elections and our Constitution itself.

I believe we need two strong parties, but the Republican Party is being destroyed by a lack of integrity. Pursuing short-term political gains without concern for long-term consequences will prove disastrous for both the party and the country.

It’s time for leadership that unites us, restores our standing globally, and focuses on real results. Normally, I support retired flag officers staying out of the political arena, but this election is too critical for our democracy. It’s time for leadership that unites us, restores our standing globally, and focuses on real results. For the future of our country, I cannot support Trump’s divisive leadership. That is why I am supporting Vice President Kamala Harris for President.

Kamala Harris recognizes the importance of supporting our military and veterans, two groups that Trump has consistently failed. His disdain for service members and their families is well documented. Meanwhile, Harris has worked tirelessly to ensure that our military remains the most powerful and respected in the world, while making sure veterans get the care and resources they deserve.

As a conservative, I believe in strong families, vibrant communities, and a thriving economy that provides opportunity for all. Trump has delivered none of these. He’s divided families, weakened our international standing, and left American workers to fend for themselves in an increasingly volatile economy.

I’m ready to move forward. I’m ready to turn the page and vote for a leader who will defend our Constitution, protect our values, and unite us as a country. Kamala Harris may not be the typical choice for a conservative, but these are not typical times. The stakes are too high to allow Trump another term to tear apart our democracy.

This election isn’t just about party loyalty—it’s about choosing someone who will lead with integrity, strength, and a commitment to all Americans. Kamala Harris is that leader. For the sake of our children’s future, I urge everyone to rise above the division, represent our values, and cast a vote for Kamala Harris.
