If you happen to be in the market for a top-of-the-line HDTV that comes with nearly every imaginable perk, be sure to do your homework on Samsung’s 65-inch Q90T QLED HDTV.

And right now at Amazon, this much-coveted QLED stud is retailing for about $2,000, a massive savings of $700. It would be hard to imagine the price falling further even when the Christmas shopping season rolls around—so the advice is to take advantage if you can.

If you’re a newcomer to the high-end HDTV market, know that the Q90T—despite all of its picture-quality greatness—doesn’t quite match up with OLEDs. In fact, no other panel on planet Earth can.

However, if you do decide to splurge on this set, you can rest easy knowing that the Q90T will provide a wonderful viewing experience—from everyday TV-watching to your weekend Netflix movies—for years to come.

As for the design, the Q90T is classic Samsung. The panel is as thin as you can get for a QLED TV right now and it does exude a slick and refined look. This particular model even got rid of the wide-set legs that sometimes gave consumers problems if they were looking to use a more modest-size TV stand or table.

Also know that if your living room has a lot of ambient lighting or gets sun-drenched during the day, this set does a superb job in still giving you that cinema-like viewing experience. The wide-angle viewing still isn’t up to par with its OLED counterparts, but few will really notice that shortcoming.

Powered by a 4K quantum processor, the Q90T comes with the highly regarded Quantum HDR 16X, which offers a wider range of brightness and color spectrum. While there’s still no support for Dolby Vision, the must-haves HDR10+ and HLG are all good to go.

For all you gamers out there waiting for the next-gen consoles from PlayStation and Xbox, know that the motion handling on the Q90T is outstanding thanks to its incredibly fast response time, and the set also flaunts super-low input lag and FreeSync support, reducing any potential screen tearing and stuttering. The end result is a noticeably smoother gameplay—no matter how graphics-intensive the games are.

As for the software features, the Q90T comes with the ultra-cool Ambient Mode, which enables you to display a digital photo that matches the wall behind the TV. This set supports Samsung’s own Bixby digital assistant, which can be a mixed bag for some, in addition to the big guns Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

Although not as fluid as Roku, Android TV or webOS, the Samsung Smart TV platform is relatively user-friendly and easy on the eyes. For the average user, there are plenty of apps to choose from, and you don’t have to worry about missing out on new content from the likes of Netflix, Amazon, Hulu and Disney+.

The Q90T’s compatibility with Dolby Digital Plus technology provides quality sound through the set’s 60W speaker system. If you desire a more bass-driven audio experience, that can be taken care of easily by purchasing a decent soundbar.
