As President Obama winds down his last year in office, some nuclear abolitionists are attempting to convince the President to take dramatic action by killing next-generation nuclear weapon delivery systems and efforts to modernize existing warheads. In an effort to make a more compelling argument, abolitionists have thrown all concern for evidence-based reasoning out the window. The simple fact is that the fundamental premises on which many of the antinuke crowd’s arguments are based are deeply flawed at best, and completely incorrect at worst. Thus, it is important for policy makers to beware of abolitionists bearing advice.
