Disney+, in time for the fourth of July, will debut possibly the most eagerly awaited streaming movie of the year.

That, and more, of what's coming to the service in July: 

• Hamilton (July 3.) The movie version of the century's most popular new Broadway musical, which won Tonys and the Pulitzer Prize, is a filmed version of the stage show, featuring the original cast of the hip-hop-based musical about the American "ten-dollar founding father,” Alexander Hamilton. Created by and starring Lin-Manuel Miranda, the movie was originally announced as a theatrical release in October of 2021, but amid the pandemic was moved up fifteen months and made a Disney+ movie. 

• The Mighty Ducks (July 3.) The original movie from 1992 about a lawyer (Emilio Estevez) sentenced to coach a youth hockey team as community service after a DUI, even for a time inspired the name of a Disney-owned NHL team. The first movie comes to the service in July, although the two sequels aren't scheduled to arrive until October. 

• Ice Age: Collision Course (July 3.) The Ice Age movies weren't made by Disney; they were produced by Blue Sky Studios and released through Twentieth Century Fox. But with Disney having bought that studio, those movies now go under its umbrella. The first Ice Age movie is on Disney+ already, and 2016's Collision Course—the fifth of them—joins it in July. 

• Solo: A Star Wars Story (July 10.) The 2018 standalone "Star Wars" movie, which concerned the adventures of a young Han Solo (the very unfairly maligned Alden Ehrenreich), was directed by Ron Howard, after directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller were fired more than halfway through filming. It's no one's favorite Star Wars movie, but it's addition to Disney+, after a year on Netflix, is significant, in that the service will offer all eleven live-action Star Wars movies made to date.

• The Mouseketeers at Walt Disney World (July 17.) Another odd artifact of Disney history being added to Disney+, this was a 1977 TV movie, featuring the members of the New Mickey Mouse Club paying a visit to Disney World in Orlando.

• Rogue Trip (July 24.) This is a new nonfiction travel series featuring former ABC News anchor Bob Woodruff and his son, Mack, visiting such countries as Pakistan, Lebanon, Colombia, and Ukraine.

• Muppets Now (July 31.) Among the many pop culture properties owned by Disney is the Muppets, and Muppets Now is their latest new show. This one featured sketch comedy and, in a first for the Muppets franchise, improv. The new series will run for six episodes in its first season.
